New Generation Currency (2018-Present)

With the change in Banknotes also ushers in a change in the coins. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has released the replacement for the New BSP Series coins. This series is called the New Generation Currency coins. These coins feature flora that are mostly endemic to the Philippines.

The first coin released is the 5 Piso coin which was released in November of 2017 to commemorate the Birth of Andres Bonifacio. Emilio Aguinaldo, who was the featured figure in all previous iterations of the 5 Piso has now been replaced by Bonifacio.

The 10 Piso that had both Mabini and Bonifacio now only feature Mabini.

The rest of the coins were released on March of 2018 and are now widely circulated. Notably absent in this series is a 10 Sentimo coin.
