Philippine Coins: 1991 50 Sentimo Improved Flora and Fauna Series
From 1991 to 1994, the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas minted a new series of coins. This series was the predecessor of the current New BSP Series. It was called the Improved Flora and Fauna Series or IFF for short and features flora and fauna found in the Philippines. This post features the 50 Centavo coin.

This coin features the famous monkey-eating eagle that is endemic only to the Philippines. This raptor is considered as one of the largest, most powerful, and rarest birds in the world. It became the National Bird of the Philippines in 1995. Click the scientific name above for more info.
